Fat Transfer Hip Dip Before & After Results
What Real Fat Transfer Results Look Like
Fat transfer for hip dips produces the most dramatic and most permanent results of any approach. But the initial result is misleading — swelling at 1 week looks dramatically fuller than the 6-month final result. Understanding the timeline prevents disappointment.
The Fat Transfer Timeline
- Day 1-3: Significant swelling at both donor site and injection site. Pain managed with medication.
- Week 1: Peak swelling. The area looks dramatically fuller than the long-term result. Do not judge results now.
- Week 4: Swelling resolving. First real contour visible. 20-30% of transferred fat may have resorbed.
- Month 3: Fat resorption largely complete. 60-80% of transferred fat has survived. This is close to the final result.
- Month 6: Final result. Surviving fat is permanently yours. Photograph now for comparison with future touch-ups.
What To Look For In Photos
Ask your surgeon for photos at 6 months, not 1 week. A 1-week photo shows swelling, not the result you will actually have. A 6-month photo shows the permanent outcome. Surgeons who only show 1-4 week photos are being misleading.
